Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort - 4 Wheel Driving and Helicopter ride
We woke up the next morning at about 7 am.
After having a rather sumptuous breakfast at one of the restaurants/cafeterias along the beach, we went for a short stroll along the beach and also see pelican feeding at 830 am.
When we reached the jetty, many visitors had gathered to see pelican feeding by the resort staff. There were about 5 or 6 pelicans on the beach very near the jetty, and the resort staff was explaining to the visitors pelicans' habits and behavior patterns so that visitors have more knowledge about these wild creatures.
Some pictures of the pelicans. One had come onto the jetty to be fed by the resort staff, who had a container full of fish.
After watching the pelicans, we went to get ready for our 4 Wheel drive at 10am.
The meeting area was along the beach, on the other side of the jetty. Besides us, there were 4 pple ready to go for a rather exciting ride.
The instructors first taught us how to use the car. There were only 2 main controls that we need to know: the accelerator (which is on our right hand bar), and the brake (which is on our left hand bar). There's also an emergency brake if you need to brake immediately. After that, we were off for a thrill ride!!
The whole trip took about 50 min. The instructor took us on a ride through some parts of Moreton island, and we did some wild turns at the sand dunes (a different area from yesterday's sand tobagganing). It was qt intimidating at first as i didn't have a good control of the accelerator and initially almost knocked into the instructor in front of me, haha!! But once i got used to the controls, it was qt fun actually. Thereafter we were led to the beach again, and drove along the beach, enjoying the scenery and winds.
We went back to bathe in our room before checking out at 12pm.
After having lunch, we had some time before our helicopter ride at 2pm. We decide to take a short trip to the Tangalooma Wrecks.
It was very relaxing walking along the beach, taking in the wonderful scenery and the sea breeze, with the sun shining brightly at us.
The tracks left behind by us and other 4 wheel drivers, which we walk past on our beach stroll:
Some scenery along the way:
The Tangalooma wrecks:
We took almost half an hour to walk to the Tangalooma wrecks, but surprisingly we weren't really tired from walking back and fro for almost 1 hour. Perhaps it was the beautiful scenery. Perhaps we were feeling really relaxed. Haha.
Next is helicopter ride. Shall not say much, and let the pictures speak:

Beautiful waters:
End of our ride:
You might not be surprised that the helicopter ride costs AUD$65 per pax for 6 minutes in the air. Although it was really ex, but i've never regretted it as it was a simply unforgettable experience. h/e pple with claustrophobia might want to avoid such rides, as the space in the helicopter is expectedly small, and might cause fear in some pple who are afraid of small spaces, and at such great heights.
We had more than 1 hour left before the ferry back to Brisbane and to Gold Coast for the night, and we spent the time relaxing at the cafe along the beach, and enjoying the scenery for the last time. We know we would definitely be back here for relaxation and try out other activities like para-sailing, jet ski, whale watching etc.
